HEINSENFOLG LOUDSPEAKER DESIGNS
These prototype loudspeaker designs exemplify the Heinsenfolg philosophy—beautifully integrated performance in a simple elegant aesthetic. Designed to produce a non-directional surround-like soundstage, these designs all feature a 360˚ driver array in the upper half of the construct, and a designated woofer area below it.
INNERSOUND SYSTEM RACK
The Innersound System Rack was designed to be completely modular. Three different lengths of legs were produced and could be easily interchanged with the 1" thick Lexan shelves to fit the customers' components.
The Innersound Kaya Reference loudspeaker was given top honors in the 2004 Great Design Issue of Architectural Digest in the category of “Best Home Speaker Design.”
In the design of the Kaya, we combined 74” tall bird’s eye maple sides wings and custom extruded bead-blasted aluminum trim with a composite UltraStat panel. Having the opportunity to oversee production on various elements was also crucial to ensuring a high quality product.
Other speakers were designed to complement the product line including: the "Kachina," a smaller floor-stander, and the & "Tehya"center channel with adjustable UltraStat panel.
INNERSOUND AUDIO COMPONENTS
Designing this 1000 watt Innersound Reference Power Amp (shown on bottom) was an exercise in ultimate overkill. Starting with a 1.25” thick piece of extruded aluminum, we used a C&C process to carve the faceplate. Beefy aluminum top and bottom panels were used to crush the “wrap-test.” And finally, all chassis connectors were hidden in between the custom heat sinks to give the appearance of a single solid block of bead-blasted metal—all designed inside and out to match the modern elegance and power of the Innersound Kaya electrostatic loudspeaker.
The Innersound Reference Preamp was designed to complement the Reference Power Amp through its use of consistent materials, finishing & production techniques. A custom built-in digital volume knob completed the Innersound Reference aesthetic.
This production schematic was used to manufacture the Ayasha prototype in-wall electrostatic loudspeaker for Consumer Electronics Show.
PS AUDIO RACK DESIGN
Designed as a fully powered rack, it featured a system of audio connections in the rear of each shelving unit. This 3D rendering for PS Audio was used to visualize the aesthetics of the conceptual product without the high cost of physical prototyping.
PS AUDIO MEDIA PLAYER
Designed as an all-in-one media player, it featured a ¼" bead-blasted aluminum faceplate with a CNC dimpled texture. The maple half-rounds would be customizable in various wood-types. This 3D rendering for PS Audio was used to visualize the aesthetics of the conceptual product without the high cost of physical prototyping.
